Rabindranath Tagore made India proud by his deep literacy accomplishments. He struggles throughout his life. He was a well-known writer, composer, playwright, essayist, and painter. He was a jovial person. He had a firm determination to follow his dreams. He was a Nobel Laureate though he was a college dropout. He has penned down words of wisdom, inspiration, and truth which continue to revive us the ways to lead our lives.
All his writings are deeply rooted in both Western and Indian learning methods. He was the first Asian poet to be awarded the Nobel prize for literature for his collection of poems called Gitanjali. Our National Anthem, Jana Gana Mana, is composed by Rabindranath Tagore. The SriLankan National Anthem is also believed to be inspired by his work. He was the youngest of the thirteen surviving children in his family. He was truly a genius. He was quite ahead of his time and is considered a cultural icon.
He covered a wide range of topics both personal and political in his novels, stories, songs, dance, dramas, and essays. Tagore’s mother died in early childhood and his father was of the political profession and so traveled a lot, due to these reasons he was raised mostly by the servants. He also wrote about Sikhism because he often had Golden Temple in his dreams. Rabindranath Tagore has left his legacy in almost the whole world. So, many universities and libraries have been named after him.
Tagore started writing in Bengali and soon some of his poems were translated and became a hit in the Western countries. He traveled across the continents for lectures of friendship and wisdom. He is an inspiration for a huge amount of people in the world including me.
